Home - News - InsideHW - IFA 2010: Creative Power
ImageThis is one of the few companies that really live up to their names. Creativity is what they do when they design new stuff, and magic is when they implement the sound in them. We sure didn’t expect to see Jonathan Wendel, better known as „Fatal1ty“, the Quake III legend responsible for the Creative Fatal1ty brand. We took the opportunity to have fun with new Creative Tactic Sigma headphones, certified by Fatal1ty himself, and we admit they sound great in games. The guys from Creative told us all the technologies that are implemented inside, but we are sure that you’ll forget everything about them once you try these headphones on and feel the real quality surrounding sound. The most impressive part is that there are only two drivers for each ear, and it feel like there are at least four or five of them.

The creative part of Creative brought us the new wireless speaker, which is shaped and looks exactly like a rock. Battery inside allows it to play non stop for at least 24-25 hours, and of course it’s waterproof. So imagine you are in your back yard and there is music coming from somewhere, but no one knows where it is, and no one would guess that big rock is actually a wireless speaker. Pure genius.

Besides couple of new USB Sound Blaster audio cards we’ve also seen a world’s first 1080p webcam and a couple of new speakers and guess what: they are also wireless. Both of them uses Bluetooth to connect to a audio device (mobile phone, music player...). The stronger, and more expensive one are called Pure Wireless Speakers, costs around 300 € and has an adapter that allows iPods without BT to connect wirelessly to it. Although the price is really high, this one blown our mind. Literally. It consists of only one speaker that enables the surround effect, but the quality of sound is something else. There is just a little bit of distortion when you crank up the volume to the max, but until 95% it gives really great sound, certainly the best when it comes to this kind of speakers. The smaller one (around 100 €) allows you to adjust the volume on it via mobile phone, like a small remote, and doesn’t have the superior sound quality, but the work as you should expect from the device in that price range.
