The Good
It’s thin and light, and the build quality is excellent. It’s very easy to use, is easy to take with you, and the screen resolution is very high. It also has a nice keyboard and a fingerprint scanner.
The biggest, and most important, positive thing is the battery life. We experienced around 9.5 hours of talk time, 7 hours of browsing, 13 hours of video, and around 10 hours of music.
The Li-Ion battery is also very good, lasting up to 8 hours. However, the battery can’t last as long as the other tablets we tested, such as the Google Pixel Slate.
We also really liked the display. It’s a 13-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This means that it has a much wider viewing angle than the Pixel Slate. And if you’re using the tablet in portrait orientation, it’s going to look very good.
The only downside is that it’s not as thin as some of the other tablets we’ve tested. It’s only 0.8mm thick, so it’s not the thinnest part of the tablet.
Also, the battery life is only okay. It’ll last around 9 hours, or 7 hours with the keyboard. It’ll also last with a little bit of use, or so the manufacturer claims.
The only other positive aspect is the keyboard. It’s slightly bigger than the Pixel Slate, but it’s still not as big as the Apple Pencil, which is smaller than the Pixel Slate and only 0.25mm thick.
In all honesty, though, it’s pretty small. And the company’s marketing team doesn’t seem to have a clue how to make a tablet that looks good.
The Bottom Line
The LG K8 Android tablet is fantastic. It looks great, feels great in your hand, performs exceptionally well, and is extremely easy to use. Plus, it runs an excellent version of Android called Oreo.

1 Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 8.1
Samsung is a giant in the tablet world, but it has its strengths. The Tab S4 is one of them.
The Tab S4 has a super-sharp 10.6-inch 1080p AMOLED screen. It’s also one of the thinnest and lightest tablets we’ve found. It runs Samsung’s S Pen, which is one of the best we’ve used.
Samsung’s software has also made Android a breeze to use. It runs Android 8.0 Pie out of the box, and there’s a version of Android built into the Tab S4.7 Jelly Bean out there.
The tablet comes with an S Pen, but it’s not as good as the Pixel Slate’s Pen. The pen is also slightly smaller and a bit less responsive than the Pixel Slate.
Even though the Tab S4 isn’t the thinnest Android tablet we’ve tested, it’s still incredibly light. We could almost pass out in the middle of a long day of work using the tablet.
The battery life is great, lasting up to 9 hours. It’ll last even longer if you’re using the tablet in a bed or on your couch. There’s a built-in speaker and a microSD card slot.
