On CeBIT '08 in Hannover AMD/ATI Corporation presented new 780G chipset. Besides new chipset, they also presented many platforms that are available at this moment, but all attendants were truly surprised with presentation of 45 nm lithography.
A member of InsideHW crew was one of few people that had a chance to take a picture with AMD/ATI representatives, and even to hold 45nm wafer. We were able to see multitasking processes with Phenom CPU which was made in 45nm technology. It is not known when will these CPUs be available for sale, but we are encouraged with the fact that in the past all reasonable AMD release dates were accomplished successfully. Many things were said about new AMD/ATI chipset which, above the rest, brings integrated graphics ready for complete HD video support. |
