Biostar introduced “office version” of motherboard based on “office” AMD RS740 chipset. Graphics core is based on RV410, identical graphics core as for AMD RD690 chipset. Asus with its Eee PC mini notebook concept made a great move, starting avalanche that still spreads. Intel Centrino was so far “untouchable” in field of portable computers but AMD Puma, by all appearance, got a necessary quality to fight for highest position.
Notebooks from Toshiba were relatively often tested in our test lab, but mostly those were models with 15.4’’ screen diagonal. Models with 13.3’’ are present on market but not as much as 15.4’’. It seems that manufacturers don’t agree with consumers’ claims that notebooks with 13.3’’ screen have best ratio of mobility and functionality. Only one manufacturer that stands strongly with 13.3’’ models is Apple with MacBook series.
