All applications save data into binary files in predefined way and order and those predefined ordered files, because of that, have characteristic file format. In purpose of easier identification, ever since DOS days, name of the file has additional three characters called file extension. In the beginning, text files were mostly saved in pure text format with DOC extension, which represented first three characters of the word document.

Company Google surprised us this summer with novelty that is on verge of sensation – beta version of their Internet browser called Google Chrome. Since all their products are very functional and user-friendly nothing less can be expected from this project. Adobe Acrobat made its first appearance in 1991, while its PDF file format, from the start, was designed as multiplatform electronic communication instrument. Appearance of Internet had significant influence on future development of this format, thereby forcing Adobe to make even better tool, which in time will become one of dominate methods of data exchange on the Net, but at the same time they had to keep their role in professional printing domain.
