In a variety of interesting products from Logitech, our attention especially was driven by one not so long ago introduced Logitech V550 Nano wireless laser mouse for notebooks. Beside standard attributes for this mouse category, V550 Nano has few unusual characteristics that will make work easier to every notebook owner. You have for certain heard of Logitech Company so in this occasion we will skip usual introduction and we’ll go right to the point.
Majority of notebook users rather use mouse than touchpad on notebook but they quite often forget to carry mouse with them if they go from one room to another. Logitech V550 Nano wireless laser mouse for notebooks has original innovative system “Clip and Go dock” that eliminates annoying question: “Where did I put my mouse?”

Package of V550 Nano contains, beside mouse itself, USB Nano receiver, two Clip-and-Go docks, tool for their removal, two AA batteries, USB desktop stand and two cleaning wipes. It’s become obvious just at first sight that this box contains much more than it’s expected for one mouse bundle.
Certainly the most unusual item is Clip-and-Go dock which is the main characteristics of this mouse. This system is actually unobtrusive attachment that should be taped on notebook and you can, when you want to hook mouse on it. You can place this attachment anywhere but the most logical position would be on the notebook cover, shifted away from the center. Logitech provided black and gray colored Clip-and-Go, which complements with most notebooks on the market. Just to be clear, Clip-and-Go dock removal tool is necessary only for removing the dock and not the mouse itself. This is a very simple and fast process that can be performed with just one hand stroke.

Logitech V550 Nano is available in two colours – gray with silver details and silver with blue details. It is symmetrically shaped and despite its smaller dimensions it nicely fits in hand. Dimensions are 10x5.8x3.4cm while it weighs without batteries only 69 grams. USB receiver weighs 2 grams and mouse with two AA batteries and receiver has 120 grams. Scroll wheel has two modes. The first is standard mode and scroll is performed by simply spinning the wheel. The mode can be changed by clicking on wheel and then scroll is continuous and much faster which is very useful for scrolling long documents or web pages. Additional key in front of the wheel serves for task switching and it needs additional software installed to perform properly.
Between batteries is placed storage for USB receiver which eliminates possibility of losing it in case you use the same mouse on several computers. Attached USB receiver carries with good reason name Nano. This is miniature device that operates at 2.4GHz and it sticks out from USB port for only 8mm. Thanks to such small dimensions, you don’t have to pull it out during transport.
Many users have fear of fast battery discharge and very often avoid wireless mouse because of that reason. V550 Nano has battery that lasts for 18 months and at the moment is the only wireless Logitech mouse with this possibility. Mouse turns off automatically when is hooked on dock or when the Nano receiver is on its storage place inside of mouse and prolonging battery life.
Function of USB extension stand isn’t obvious to us. It doesn’t even appear on pictures in manual so you can look on it like nice bonus.
