ImageFirst keyboard that we will present to you today is named diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks. First thing that we have noticed is that although this keyboard is designed for notebook computers, you can use it without any problems in desktop environment. In case we would like to grade this device, diNovo Keyboard for Notebooks would get the best possible grade for its design. Central area of this keyboard is made in piano finish, and palm rest surface is made of brushed-aluminum.

Keys are designed in slim version just like on notebooks, but also those are using PerfectStroke system with precise micro switches which gives better “depth” of stroke, not “shallow” like one on standard keyboards, and because of that this keyboard is more comfortable for typing than any similar that we encountered before. Entire keyboard is slim designed, and without “belly” on lower rear end which contains batteries, it wouldn’t be higher than 1 centimeter. Minor disadvantage is absence of possibility to adjust keyboard level (height of backend). Presence of batteries indicates a wireless connection with computer. Batteries that come in the package are not rechargeable, but manufacturer claims that they will last for at least three years, which we could not test because of obvious reasons.

Position of keys is mostly common, although we noticed some interesting details. For instance, lower key row in central area is a bit higher than the rest of the keys. We did not see any advantages of this design solution, but there were no disadvantages as well. On the other hand we think that LED on Caps Lock key is more than welcomed. This is a small thing that means a lot, during typing. Delete key is a bit larger, and it “pushed” Insert towards Print Screen and Pause key that took place of Scroll Lock key. Function keys are reduced to half of key size, but they perform double functions and you can use them as multimedia keys as well. Key for Calculator is welcomed, but it seems that in this case it is functioning too eagerly. Every time you push this key, a new Calculator instance will be started, although it would be much better if it would turn it on/off instead.
