Advantages of notebooks that are categorized as business models are not usually visible strait away. On Toshiba Tecra R10-10S there is sticker with Centrino 2 vPro logo that can give you an hint. Active Management Technology is present along side with TPM: Trusted Platform Module that allows encryption of data with key present in module itself. Encrypted data is stored on virtual disk created on separate partition. For additional data protection Toshiba Tecra R10 uses Toshiba HDD protection. Fingerprint reader can be used to login into OS but also can be used to authorize user before OS is loaded and in this way increase security of notebook and data stored on it.
Display on Tecra R10-10S has 14.1inch diagonal with LED backlight. Picture is uniform with small vertical viewing angles. We expected much better display. Advantage of this screen is that it is has matte surface so usage on bright sunny day will not be that unpleasant experience.

Performances and components in Toshiba Tecra R10 are suited to business users. GS45 is most powerful chipset from Intel with integrated graphics card. Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 CPU is using less power than most of other Core 2 Duo models. In combination with LED backlight of display this notebook has respectable results in autonomy test.
Additional value of Toshiba Tecra R10-10S present integrated 3G module. This allows users to have internet access almost everywhere. Tecra R10 that we got on test had Windows Vista Basic OS preinstalled but, if you prefer XP there is also XP recovery DVD in package. All this comes with tree year guarantee.
