Cooler_Master_SNA_95_intro2.jpgImageIf you bought second hand notebook without a power adapter, or simply damaged beyond repair or lost original one, you will find yourself in unpleasant situation where you will not be able to use your notebook, and what’s more, not be able to access your data. In most cases for a new original power adapter you will need to wait for few week and it will, in most cases, cost a lot. What to do in the mean time? There is simple solution in form of universal notebook power adapter. Never heard of? Well, there is one that does the job perfectly, for almost every notebook out there.

Simply designed, with flat surfaces and slightly rounded edges, Cooler Master SNA 95 (Slim Notebook Adapter as contrast to other models that are not so slim) has elegant appearance, and even owners of “stylish” notebooks won’t be ashamed to place it beside their portable pets. Upper half of the power adapter chassis is black while bottom is dark grey, which is another nice detail. As its name suggest, this notebook power adapter is really slim, without any sacrifices in features department. Power adapter itself is only 17mm high, but when put on stand it reaches 30mm in height.

Of course, universal power adapter like this should have a lot of additional connectors, and in case of SNA 95, they are placed on conveniently designed stand. Besides the connector on power adapter cable, there are additional eight power connectors that can be used for almost any notebook model. Connectors are color-coded and there is short reference on the back of connector stand, but you should always pick one that is identical to original power adapter.

Cooler Master SNA 95 can be used for notebooks that consume no more than 95W, which is enough for majority of models. We tested SNA 95 on few notebooks and there was no difference between original and universal power adapter in charging times or problems during intensive benchmarking. Manufacturer claims that SNA 95 can even withstand short power surges no greater than 150W but we didn’t have a notebook that could test this claim properly.

Since details are very important when it comes to differences between competitors, and Cooler Master is very experienced when it comes to its competitors, there is additional purpose to power adapter stand that came in the package. This power adapter stand is used as a way to enhance cooling of power adapter since it can get hot during full load periods. Hidden purpose of this stand is cable management. Thanks to “unique H-shaped reel base”, power adapter cables can be conveniently packed into stand, so they won’t contribute to clutter, that in most cases can be seen in every working environment. Simple but very effective solution to common problem.

Maybe you noticed from pictures that Cooler Master SNA 95 has USB connector on its side. This USB connector can be used to power and charge any other device like media player, mobile phone or even portable HDD. All devices that you will plug in this connector will be served with 1A current power, which is more than enough. On the top side of SNA 95 is present one LED that signals in which mode adapter is: white for notebook charging, and blue for USB charging. In the package can be found little carrying bag, which is also nice gesture.
