This time, we tested GPS device that caught our attention primarily with its low price, which does not decrease its functionality. First thing to notice is large screen with good layout with very precise detail level. Displaying of content mostly depends on view mode that you are using for your route, but generally speaking, it has exceptional display possibilities.
This model brings pretty good Night Mode as well, which can be set to turn on automatically, and it does not make your eyes feel tired. Also there is no strong light flashing that could disturb you while driving. Prestigio Geovision 430 has much better additional equipment than its competition, which is in a specific way Prestigio trade mark. Geovision 430 offers external roof antenna, which you don’t need to use in city environment, but if you are driving through forest or canyons you will be more than happy to use it. While driving we didn’t lose the satellite signal at any time, and we always knew our position on the map. Device possesses big internal memory, which tells us that mapping is located inside the ROM.

Interesting additional function is possibility of DivX video reproduction which, for instance, can allow your fellow-travelers to view pictures or watch a music video. Design of device is robust (no plastics crunching) with rounded borders. Windshield cradle has big angle of rotation when device is placed on it (approximately 60% horizontally and vertically). Attaching it to windshield is solved by simple “vacuum” principle. Adherence of the windshield cradle is possible on any kind of smooth surfaces, you simply have to lean it to surface and lower the lever. If the surface is clean there is no need to worry that your device will fall off, even if you are driving on bumpy road. Geovision 430 can’t charge through USB connector, just like its predecessor GeoVision 350 , but that is why Prestigio offers in this package 5V/2A chargers. During the test we were pleasently surprised with sound clearness and loudness, which can be easily regulated with a volume wheel on the right side of device. Wheel is multifunctional, so it can be used as a press button with Mute function. On that side of device, is also placed charging connector. Device can be charged over standard car lighter charger or with AC charger for home usage.

Geovision 430 uses iGo 2006 software, and it comes with detailed maps of Western/Eastern Europe and Russia. Destination setup is very simple and in case of missed turn (caused by road works for example), device will quickly recalculate (aproximately 5 seconds) new route to your destination. If you have some destinations that you use often (home, work…), it is possible to memorize and reuse them with much less effort and less commands. If you save the route that you are taking at the moment, than later you can easily run through it and see how long did it take for you to complete that ride. Defined routes can be set in economic, fast or automatic mode. Device also calculates fuel consumption, but in some cases this calculation is not very accurate, because after all, device cannot recognize traffic jam on highways, although they are marked as fastest roads.
General conclusion is that Prestigio GeoVision 430 GPS navigator is great purchase and it is worth its price.
