Conclusion

The game included with Wii console is called Wii Sports, and it’s actually used as sort of demonstration of new console options. Besides, it helps independent developer teams to be introduced with controlling system, and it announces advantages and lacks of Nintendo novelties. All this certainly does not mean that Wii Sports is bad game, on contraire; it is very addictive and fun, especially for more players.

 Wii Sports - Golf

Wii sports are comprised of several disciplines – Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling and Boxing. There are also two additional options, training and Wii Fitness. In tennis, you will play double match versus different difficulties level opponents, while in baseball you’ll hit or catch the ball. The most addictive one is certainly tennis, primarily because constant action and your wish to be as better as you can. Of course, as your experience (skill) goes forward, opponents will be more precise and more in-the-game, until you reach 1000 points and title „pro“. This is the time when really hard and suspense matches are beginning.

 Wii Sports - Baseball

Games which can be played in multiplayer mode using only one controller are Golf and Bowling, thus these two sports certainly are most appropriate for home entertainment with friends. Wii Fitness is special part of Wii Sports intended for people over 20 years of age (due to preciseness measurement) which enables to, by performing simple daily trainings, define your physical capability, are you fast enough, do you have strength and motion coordination. Wii Sports will discover to you the real performance of speaker on Wiimote, another Nintendo novelty. This small speaker issues all these sounds created by sports requisites you use (racket, golf stick, boxing glove) which really contribute to the atmosphere.

 Wii Sports - Tennis

On the other side, Wii Sports displays that Nintendo never gave too much hope to strong hardware and advanced graphics, thus it remained consistent to „innovation and originality“ recipe applied at Nintendo DS console. Hardware which drives Wii is even a bit weaker than one applied in original Xbox (1) console, thence people who demand good lighting effects and lots of platforms will remain disappointed a bit. This is the reason why Wii finds its audience among older players which seek originality and addiction, and that is why it is possible to explain relatively small console dimensions (see separate article „Bring in your entertainment“). Although, older hardware has its good sides, particularly price, thus Wii costs 250 euros, almost two times less then Xbox 360 and approximately 2.5 times less than PlayStation 3.

Nintendo made an effort, and for launching of this console it prepared some number of new titles appropriate to most of the players. There are Excite Truck, interesting arcade driving, then various Super Mario and Sonic variants, then Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and many, many other.
