Conclusion

Nintendo always prefers to be paid for some accessories, which represents system promoted long ago, long before Xbox Live and similar systems. Naturally, there is no exception even with Nintendo Wii console, so for everyone who thinks that this console offers less features in its basic version, they have Wii Shop which is accessible through main menu. By using points, you can purchase additional Wii software, while on the other side, you are offered with various utility programs like Opera Internet browser (which is still free of while in beta period), and other games leaded by so-called „Virtual Console“.

Old games are available trough Wii Shop

This is section in which for 800 points (approximately 10 dollars) you can purchase one or more of really old Nintendo games, optimized to operate on Wii. List of titles sold this way is really huge and contains most of older Nintendo systems, and good response shows that among Wii customers there are a lot of nostalgic people. Wii points can regularly be bought in any retail shop which is offering console itself, on special card (something like time adding cards for MMORPG games), and manufacturer promises plenty of additional software and games in the forthcoming months.
