ImageNintendo Wii wasn’t equipped with powerful hardware, Blu-ray disc reader, great visual effects or performances never seen before, but never the less it succeeded to impose itself as best buy console despite Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation3. Instead of all these expected characteristics Nintendo came out with revolutionary system of playing and lower price than competition had.

One of main selling points of Nintendo Wii was its revolutionary gyroscopic Wiimote controller that is motion sensitive and can be easily used even for moving through menus while using “pointer”, similar to usage of laser presenter device. All these possibilities contributed in defining Wii console as entertainment for entire family. Besides many other games that came out only Wii Sports, that was included in basic package, introduced physical training to players, more exactly, exercises that are intended primarily for upper part of the body. Nintendo foresaw potential of “room fitness” and started with development of Wii Fit platform. And finally after more than six months from official announcement, Wii console owners can purchase this special “room fitness equipment”.
Wii Fit is a pad that stays firmly on the flour. It’s more precise to say that this pad is actually called Balance Board and whole set is Wii Fit. But among users Wii Fit term gained more popularity than Balance Board and we will also use it (even it is incorrect) to avoid any misunderstanding. Wii Fit looks just like any other pad for regular aerobics except presence of “power” button and four batteries. Communication with console is wireless.

When you start Fit for the first time, it will determine your weight and help you to improve your posture by determining your balance center. After “calibration” Fit will calculate your “body age” – number of years that your body has according to speed and skills that you use to complete all assigned tasks in game. When you determine your weight, height and “years” for the first time, you can then define your goal (for example: to reduce body weight for 5kg in next two months) and start exercising to achieve that goal. How far with details Nintendo went with this game can be illustrated by the fact that during initial weight measurements you are asked for approximate weight of your clothing, time of the day that you are going to exercise  and so on, and what is very important, these data can be protected with password.
