ImageFew months ago we tested Cooler Master V8 cooler and we announced that there will be more models in this new V series . This time in our test lab arrived V10 model that pretends to be top model of current line-up. This is the model that Cooler Master has hopes for becoming “king of the hill” model for some time, at least when it comes to CPU coolers.

Packaging

Cooler Master V10 is packed in nice and simple box with lot of information on it about the product inside. Most important information that we found was the fact that this cooler can be mounted on almost any socket. AMD sockets are supported in form of 754, 939, 940 and AM2 while Intel supported sockets are LGA775 and LGA1366 (Core i7). Mounting procedure isn’t complicated but motherboard needs to be taken out of the chassis unless you have appropriate holes in motherboard plate as it is the case with Storm Sniper or ATCS 840 or HAF932 . Manual is very good with lot of supported languages and nice illustrations that will help even inexperienced users to mount it without any other help. Besides all important part in the package we also found Cooler Master ThermalFusion 400 thermal paste. Amount of this paste is enough for just one application but since it has perfect consistency (not too fluid or too solid) you actually don’t need more than that.

When we took cooler out of the box it was obvious that Cooler Master engineers believe that “size does matter”. Dimension of this cooler are 236x130x161mm. This means that it will completely cover upper half of most motherboards. If you wonder why is dismounting of motherboard necessary we will only tell you that this cooler weights 1200gr or 1.2kg.
