Hyper 212 Plus

This cooler presents revision of Hyper 212 model that offered nice performances for very reasonable price. We were expecting nothing less from its younger brother.

Body of Hyper 212 Plus consists of 47 aluminum fins that are connected to 4 heat-pipes. Heat-pipes, as it was the case with Hyper TX3, are in direct contact with CPU heat spreader. Aluminum fins and heat-pipes (soldering points) are much better on 212 Plus model compared to TX3 so we expected much better performances. Comparing to TX3, 212 Plus model has 120mm fan with identically designed fins like on TX3 model. Same fan mounting mechanism is present here also. Additional mounting wire brackets are also provided for mounting another fan, just like on TX3 model.

Mounting of this cooler on motherboard is completely different from anything that we saw so far. Back plate universal and motherboard had to be removed from chassis for their mounting, but front plate is made in shape of letter X that is adjustable to various sockets. Because of this, maximum force of mounting mechanism is applied at center of cooler where it is most needed. Simple and very, very efficient mounting mechanism that provides perfect contact with CPU heat spreader.
