ImageCoolers from Cooler Master Hyper product lineup have never disappointed us. Bottom line is: any cooler from this lineup always is best buy. One more characteristics of these models is simple and functional design without too much fiddling with bells and whistles. On the contrary, only “battle hardened” and well known solutions were used that always provide good results.

Hyper N520

All the above exactly describes this cooler and its tower-ish design that promises good results. Intel Socket 1366 CPUs are known as for theirs thermal dissipation properties, especially if overclocked. Every user doesn’t need Intel Core i7 CPU at 4GHz neither it is willing to invest into a expensive CPU cooler. So Cooler Master presented solution in form of accessible Core i7 cooler: Hyper N520. Copper base is almost perfectly flat but mirror finish should have been better. But this can be easily corrected as described HERE.

Hyper N520 is also consisted of 5 copper heat pipes that are 6mm in diameter, and 48 aluminum fins. Fins are densely packed so Cooler Master decided to use two 90mm fans that use push&pull air flow mechanism. Thanks to this fan configuration good cooling performances can be achieved even at low fan speeds (RPM). This means that this cooler is also very quiet. Fans are in most occasions very quiet, almost noiseless, while at maximum RPM are noisier but not too much and definitely not in a way that would bother anyone. Power cable has 3 pins so it can be connected to any standard motherboard or fan controller that can control fan speeds. Fans are not symmetrically mounted in relation to cooler body (aluminum fins) which neutralizes dead air circulation zones (that can occur at the center of each fan). Additional accessories of Hyper N520 are all necessary tools and add-ons for cooler mounting plus the thermal paste. Mounting procedure is simple and easy, but in most cases you will need to take motherboard out of the chassis or not if you have chassis with appropriate openings on the motherboard plate.
