ImageFew weeks ago we reviewed MSI NetTop , PC that beside its small dimensions had also very low power consumption (35W) and as such was ideal solution for almost any office. This time we got PC that has extremely low power consumption of 65W that includes power consumption of monitor because whole PC is packed at the back side of it. This AIO concept isn’t something new, but till now prices of similar configurations were relatively high compared to performances but MSI AP1900 model is ready to make some radical changes even in that department.

ImageThanks to AMD’s Dragon platform, most desktop configuration retailers have updated their line-up accordingly. In our test lab have arrived two Pakom desktops based on AMD CPUs and chipsets that pack quite a punch. When it comes to desktops maybe these are the best that we saw so far.

ImagePopularity of small factor configurations is growing rapidly. Except small sizes, thanks to which nettops can be placed almost anywhere in a room or office, manufacturers have begun to pay attention to power consumption of these small PCs. From MSI we got one of their latest nettop models: Wind Nettop D130. Interesting detail of this configuration is the dual-core Atom CPU that operates at 1.6GHz and it should provide higher performance levels with lower power consumption compared to its older single-core brother.

ImageOn September 5, 2007 Company Super Micro Computer, as leader in software optimization and production of top-quality servers, introduced their new “super server” concept. Platform that can support 4 Intel Xeon processors was introduced at the same time, but all this wouldn’t be so interesting if those Xeon CPUs didn’t have four cores. That way it was possible to create server with 16 CPU cores. Nevertheless Super Micro didn’t stop there, and neither did Intel, so now it is possible to install six-core Xeon CPUs. That way server can have 4x6=24 cores!
