Page 1 of 4 Obviously Cooler Master decided to have product for every user category that exists, when it comes to computer chassis. If you take a look at last few reviews of Cooler Master chassis, you will see that each chassis is suited for different user group. This time we got a chassis that is attended for gamers and all of you out there that feel like one.
Cooler Master Storm Sniper is representative of new CM brand: Storm. This series is intended for gamers. This user group has very specific demands when it comes to their choice of hardware. After opening of big box that Sniper came in, we definitely concluded that Cooler Master fulfilled most of the average gamers’ demands when it comes to chassis. Most gamers like robust peripherals and chassis and Sniper is definitely one of those. It has similar dimensions as HAF932 model (255x567x551mm) but because of its chubbier design it looks smaller.

Front side is dominated by 200mm blue lighted fan that is positioned behind front mask. This fan is sucking air into the chassis and rotates at 500-1000RPM and generates between 17dBA and 23dBA. Fan is transparent and it is doing a good job of cooling hard disks that can be easily mounted in plastic bays. These bays, beside simple mounting mechanism have noise reducing role. Hard disk cage can be rotated so it can be positioned to be parallel to side panels. Compared to HAF932, Storm Sniper has air filter on front fan and it is cross-hair shaped. On the right panel are provided places for additional fans: for one 200mm or two 120mm fans that are not included in the original package. Right panel also has dust filter and it is located behind mash. Both side panels are “bulged” which give Sniper that robust look but also provide additional space for hiding cables. At top side is located 200mm fan with same characteristics like the one located at front. This fan is used for propelling hot air out of chassis. Same purpose has the 120mm fan located at the back side of this model. In real world application, this chassis proved itself as very silent and very noisy chassis at the same time. Of course this depends on rotating speeds of fans.

To make easer control of fan RPM for you, Cooler Master provided on this model of chassis very nice and extremely useful fan controller that is located at top. Large rotating knob can be used to set desired RPM of all fans that are mounted in this chassis. Maximum number of these fans cannot be larger than 5, and all of them can be connected to controller by molex connectors. Maybe someone won’t like the fact that those are not 3-pin connectors but most of fans nowadays come with small adapter cable for those cases.
