 Our first impressions on this case were: it is going to be drafty in there. That thought was a consequence of large number of ventilation openings for fan mounting. Case itself is build of steel and aluminum side panels and final fabrication is very well done. Design of this case is simple and elegant. Front panel is built of aluminum and quality plastics with edges that
blend perfectly. Large part of front mask is covered with 5.25” drive
bay covers. There is additional 3.5” drive bay cover for users that use
floppy drive or internal card readers.
Drive bay covers are perforated and have dust filters. Those filters are needed since there is possibility for mounting 120mm fan behind them. Power button and LEDs are located on top of front panel. Cooler Master decided that reset button is redundant but we cannot agree with them. Also standard I/O panel, with two USB 2.0 ports, one IEE 1394 port, microphone IN and speaker OUT, is located on top of front panel. Back panel of this case has standard options although we were pleasantly surprised by presence of openings for water cooling system. Area inside of case is well organized and spacious. 4 HDDs can be mounted in hard drive cage that has rubber pads for vibration compensation.

Unfortunately there is only one cage that comes with this case but there is possibility of ordering another one from manufacturer. For users that like neat cabling we should mention that panel for motherboard mounting is profiled to satisfy that need. Power supply is intended for mounting at the bottom of the case with appropriate openings.

Installation of components is easy so you will need only one screwdriver to mount motherboard. The rest of the components are mounted without any tool thanks to plastic locking mechanism fond on each PCI slot and drive bay. Front fans are mounted on HDD cages which can be pulled out from the front of the case if front drive bay covers are removed. There are more fan mounting positions on this case and those are: two on top, one at the back, one on right side (on back of motherboard) and two on left side. All this positions are suitable for mounting 140mm fans except position on right side of case that supports 80mm slim fan that can provide better cooling of CPU socket on motherboard. When all fans are mounted on their positions (only two 120mm fans are supplied with case) noise that they generate is low but for achieving even better results few fan controllers can do the trick. Air flow in Cooler Master Centurion 590 is great so all passionate overclockers that still use air cooling solutions will appreciate this. Case is lite thanks to used aluminum (8.5kg) and easy to carry around so if you are “lan-party gamer” you should take this case into consideration.
