The very first thing you will notice is that the ATI Radeon HD 5850 is thankfully shorter than the Radeon HD 5870.
As compared to the 5870, AMD has disabled two of the SIMDs and reduced the core clock from 850MHz to 725Mhz.
The HIS HD 5850 follows the AMD reference design specifications to the letter, and simply adds the included accessories and the sticker on the cooler.
The reference 5850 also has the same port configuration as its big brother; a pair of vertically stacked DVI outputs share the ride with DisplayPort and HDMI 1.3a connections.
