Just one week ago, we published news about first Directx11 benchmark , and now even vista users (with Directx11 hardware and appropriate drivers) will be able to try it. Beta version was available for some time now, and just few days back it was renamed to full one and made public through platform update (windows update). There is not much fuss around it, but first tests are showing almost identical performance in Directx11 titles and benchmarks under Windows 7 and updated Vista.
Of course, it may change in the future with more software with Dx11
support on the market, but first signs are promising. Almost the same
performance and wide user population with both Vista and Windows 7
support will cut developer’s thinking if using Dx11 will shrink
potential buyers buy significant margin.
