Anti-virus company McAfee is reporting that Facebook has become the target of a virus which steals passwords and other sensitive information from the social network's 400 million users. The virus comes via spam emails that state that users Facebook accounts have had their passwords reset. You are then urged to click on an attachment to "obtain new login credentials." Once opened, the attachment unleashes a group of trojans, including a password stealing software.

McAfee have launched a service that is aimed to be a real push for enterprise cloud computing, designed to appease fears and entice in new customers. New "Cloud Secure" platform is set to offer vendors a combined security and certification service that is based on the company's own Smart Protection Network. This new solution will combine Smart Protection Network and certification standards, as well as auditing and daily security scanning.

The first ever "dotcom" domain has today celebrated its 25th birthday, an Internet landmark. On March 15th, 1985 Symbolics computers purchased the first domain with a dotcom ending, becoming one of just 6 companies/individuals to do so in 1985. In 1997, the one millionth dotcom was registered, a number that has since exploded.

Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Yizhong has issued a strongly worded warning to search outfit Google, over its pledge to stop censoring its search engine. Yizhong said he hopes Google can respect Chinese rules and regulations, but added that the company would have to "bear the consequences" if it decides cease censoring search results.

YouTube's mobile website has grown like mad (160% in 2009), thanks to huge smartphone adoption, and is now serving up videos to millions of people around the world. This is an audience that cannot be ignored in terms of potential revenue so after a bit of testing, Google has now begun putting ads on the mobile site's home, search, and browse pages.

Just over one year after launching its service, San Francisco-based DocVerse has been snatched up by Google for an unconfirmed $25 million. DocVerse's offer enables easy real-time sharing and editing of Word, PowerPoint and Excel files via web-based services, and Google has one popular cloudy productivity solution Google Docs.
