Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) introduced an innovative motherboard, G43T-WM, supporting Intel Remote Wake Technology which can switch ON a computer that is connected to an internet from a remote computer. Users can remotely access home PCs anytime through a 3rd party application which limited access to authorized users.
Thus G43T-WM board not only can be used to build a powerful PC but allows you to remotely connect a MID (Mobile Internet Device) for more advanced applications, and even accepting VOIP calls. If you like to share something with your friends anytime, it must be an ideal choice for building a WOL (Wake on LAN) PC.
Intel Remote Wake Technology allows you to stay your PC in standby mode and then wake it up remotely over the Internet and an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) interface to gain access to your data. In other words, it’s a much improved version of WOL (Wake on LAN) that it even works through a firewall and very easy to set up compared to some of the current remote PC access solutions. The major difference between current “Remote Wake” PC solutions is that it could be resumed by remote device in a sleep mode to avoid unnecessary power consumption with PC fully on. Users wake up their home PCs from sleep mode instead of keeping their home PCs ON all day.
Besides, people also can benefit from this new function on many aspects. For example, users can access their home PC from remote device anytime and share their precious photos with friends thousand miles from where the PC located. If you out travel and still want to watch your favorite TV show, remember to set up your schedule recording before your leave then you could enjoy the shows through the internet without leaving your home PC always on.
