AMD AM3/AM2+ 45nm processor was designed to run at lower power and bring more performance meanwhile. A PC with AMD 45nm processor and BIOSTAR AM3 ready motherboards surely deliver quicker system responsiveness to power your system.
If you plan to use the latest AMD's AM3 processor, there is a chance the system may fail to boot for existing motherboards in the market. You should update BIOS with existing compatible AM2/AM2+ CPU if you encounter this situation. If BIOS is already updated to support AM3 processors, then no update will be necessary.
