For enterprise environment, Thecus has delivered another platform of IP storage with guaranteed stability an unparallel file transfer speed, the iSCSI RAID series, which includes i4500R (4-bay 1U unit) and i5500 (5-bay tower unit).

Different from NAS units and without file sharing feature, both Thecus iSCSI RAID devices are pure IP storage with blazing fast throughput with iSCSI protocol, and yet, precious data is still under protection of various levels of RAID redundancy.

Unlike regular NAS, Thecus iSCSI RAID devices provide IP storage platform without file sharing capability.

Supporting 4 and 5 hot-swappable SATA drive bays, both i4500R and i5500 provide at least 4TB and 5TB of storage respectively. A wide selection of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD, offer unbeatable security. Both iSCSI series use dedicated hardware controller to configure the array, effectively shortening time required to build RAID than a software RAID array. Thecus iSCSI devices deliver raw horsepower required to transfer files quickly and efficiently, over 100MB/s for read and write under RAID 6.

With block level data transmission over regular Ethernet, Thecus iSCSI RAID technology allows numerous host accesses to the units through the iSCSI protocol at unprecedented read and write performance under RAID data protection. A unique IP storage platform, i4500R and i5500 are different from the typical Thecus NAS.
