After several teaser photos, Dell has formally announced Adamo XPS laptop. If you are not familiar with this product, beside good looks, and ionized aluminum case, this one should be thinnest laptop in the world, less than 1cm thick -9.99mm to be precise. In such thin and light (1.4kg) package there many other drooling stuf: a capacitive latching device which requires a quick finger swipe to open it up, a keyboard with aluminum keycaps and a multi-gesture touchpad.
Hardware specs are also great: The Adamo XPS packs a 13.4-inch
widescreen LCD (720p), a 1.4 GHz Core 2 Duo CULV CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM,
GMA 4500 integrated graphics, a 128GB SSD, and will be available with a
20WHr battery providing up to 2 hours and 36 minutes of operation or a
40WHr battery lasting up to 5 hours and 17 minutes. WiFi and Bluetooth
2.1 also also equipped, together with a DisplayPort output and two USB
2.0 ports. The operating system pre-loaded is Windows 7 Home Premium
64bit. After all of this goodies, high price point at $1,799 is not
surprising at all, and if you “fall in love" with one of this, it can
be yours for holidays when it starts shipping.
