The multi-gesture touchpad with circular-motion scrolling and pinch-action zoom puts swift, navigation and intuitive zoom in and out is also at your fingertips. To prevent accidental cursor movements, the touchpad is lockable. The Acer PowerSmart key helps you save power to extend battery life.
 The new notebooks come with a 17.3” (7738) or 15.6” (5738) high-brightness, HD panel and a native 16:9 aspect ratio. Movies come to life via the Acer CineCrystal panel. A choice of graphic solutions, either integrated or dedicated, together with optimized 3rd generation Dolby Home Theater allows riveting action and realistic audio play. The notebooks can be equipped with Blu-ray Disc drive. To give users easier access to entertainment, the Aspire 7738 includes the CineDash Lite touch sensitive media console.
The Aspire 7738 and 5738 are powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor technology. The front accessible 5-in-1 card reader supports the most used card formats for easy data transfer and file sharing. Up to 4GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory allow a smooth flowing of operation, ensuring faster, more efficient multitasking.

The Aspire 5738 comes with Intel Wireless WiFi Link (dual-band quad-mode 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N) Wi-Fi CERTIFIED network connection and Gigabit Ethernet, for fast LAN connection. Depending on the model, the 5738 can be specified with integrated 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi/WiMAX module and Bluetooth 2.0.
For maximum data security, the Aspire 7738 and 5738 integrate Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint solution for notebook protection from unwanted access and for easy and convenient way to launch frequently used applications. In addition, the Acer Backup key allows users to duplicate files to another location quickly and easily.
