Intel ready to launch new 320GB SSDs? PDF Print

ImageRumor says Intel is ready to launch new 34nm NAND chips SSDs in two weeks or less. The drives are expected to ship in 80, 160 and 320GB. There are other rumors sayng there will be even biggest SSDs soon, big enough to replace the HDDs in allmost every laptop. Besides higher capacities, new SSDs will have faster performance, reduced power consumption, and maybe even lower prices. That was one of the biggest problems of this technology since PCs with SSD are much more expensive than same models with HDD. The current X18-M and X25-M solid state drives use a 50nm process, and have 80GB and 160GB capacities. Price range is from $350 to $800.
