This thread discusses the Content article: ATi vs. nVIDIA: Video Transcoding

Is there an Avivo CPU usage chart? I have read elsewhere that it is very near 100% but the review makes it sound like it will be similar to Badaboom. In that review it was also mentioned that with the 100% CPU utlization Avivo was very reliant on the CPU and that using a slower more common "everyman" CPU may provide very different transcoding speeds.

Well I tried on my Core2 CPU @ 2.4GHZ and ATI HD 4850 and CPU utilization is 100% most of the time.

Here is screen shot. I guess on quad core CPU utilization doesn't go at 100%.

but then again it converted 45min divx for slightly under 5 minutes to iPod format so I can wait 5 or 10 min for complete conversion.

Of course when I first time started and aborted conversion i got error window so we should wait for next version of AVIVO converter and see if ATI optimized converter to be more stable and less CPU dependent.

EDIT: I guess upload of images doesn't work so ...
