ImageFor all those who don't already know, CeBIT is the world's most famous IT fair traditionally held in Hanover (Germany). During its long-lasting presence (the first fair was held in 1986.), CeBIT was always the fanciest place available to present a new product. On the other hand, visitors, “hungry” of new technologies and products, always appear in loads, making this fair very special as well. Just in order to present the size of this fair, we will tell you that it takes two hours to get from one end of it to the other. Of course, with very basic glances at the stands.

The InsideHW crew was on the spot to report this year as well. What seemed to be the main theme of this year's CeBIT is certainly “Green IT”. This means primarily lowering power consumption of individual components, but also manufacturing RoHS compliant (ecologically clean) hardware, and thus showing care for the environment and natural resources. Nearly all manufacturers have shown the readiness to follow this “trend”. We were very glad to see this, that corporations seem to finally care about the future. As every CeBIT is “future in present” in some way, it might be best to start this report with the future of chipsets and microprocessors, the basis of everything else.
