Republic of Gamers (ROG) badge, that can be found on cover of this notebook, is known from graphics cards and motherboards and it emphasizes gaming character of this notebook. Besides its obvious gaming pedigree ASUS G71V actually belongs to desktop replacement notebook category. Even if you never encountered ROG badge in your life, after first glimpse at this notebook it will become obvious that it is intended for gaming population. Large number of openings, colorful blinking diodes and lights combined with, usual for this kind of products, red-black color theme makes this notebook very noticeable.

If HP 2133 that we reviewed two months ago was intended for business users then ASUS Eee PC S101 is intended for business users that need to make a statement. This is most elegant netbook that we tested so far, and it is suited for male or female users. This ultrathin model resembles Mac Book Air and its originality comes from unusual color of the cover. Color of the S101 that we got was something between color of brass and coffee. Piano finish of the cover, because of this unusual color, doesn’t look unappealing like on some models. Palm rest, or area around touchpad, is made of brushed aluminum and besides its elegant looks it is easy to maintain this surface.

Good business notebook should be lightweight, reliable, fast and with long autonomy and good quality. Toshiba built Tecra R10 for business users that travel a lot and we will see if Toshiba fulfilled its goal.
At first sight Toshiba Tecra R10-10S doesn’t look tough. This impression is consequence mostly because of slim and flexible cover. Surprisingly, even under severe bending of cover, there was no picture distortion. After thorough inspection we concluded that toughness and quality of Tecra R10 aren’t that bad. Although if you expected casing that can withstand extreme punches you will be slightly disappointed.

Although, undauntedly, all ThinkPad notebooks are quality products, sale rate is not something that Lenovo can be satisfied with, when it comes to ThinkPad notebooks. After first wave of cheap netbooks, luxurious variants are starting to appear on the market. As it was the case with first netbooks, ASUS again made a first move in that direction and as result we got one crossbred luxurious netbook in our test lab. Even though ASUS N10J, technical sample that we got in our test lab,
looks like classic representative of netbook product (with slightly
bigger dimensions), it’s not that simple to determine its product
category. If we would try to define netbook product category in
general, we would say that they have: small dimensions, low power
consumption CPU, integrated graphics and no optical device. ASUS N10J
is all that and something more.
