Whenever the subject of vacuum tube amplifiers is brought up, it is most likely that someone is discussing expensive hi-fi audio equipment. SonicGear brought this category of amplifiers to the computer world. Their i-Steroid 2.1 system represents a unique attempt at integrating “old-fashioned” vacuum tubes into the cold electronics and high-tech world. The name itself is obviously an allusion to iPod players and that becomes even more obvious by taking a glance at the device itself.

Some time ago, ASUS announced their plans to enter the sound card market, with models targeting primarily gamers. This information was received with a solid amount of scepticism, as we could seldom see anyone who thought that a fresh sound card could beat Creative X-Fi models. Asus didn't give up on its idea and after CeBIT's announcement, they've finally released the final product. |

As the manufacturer of top PC peripherals, Logitech introduced the set of speakers which significantly satisfy criteria for 100€ price range. Considering the fact that during the past several years they have been more focused on big, too loud and far more expensive sets, the gap between necessary and megalomania went even further. How good are "100€ speakers" from Logitech?

For quite some time now, one neglected category on the market of computer loudspeakers are small 2.0/2.1 sets. Manufacturer’s orientation is apparently treating these loudspeakers as portable versions, and anyone with somewhat serious computer should have enormous system with „God-knows-how-many“ satellites, and twice as much cables. What to do when you need another set, temporarily put aside for occasional listening from mp3 player?
