While we’re only getting rumors and leaks here and there about the Samsung Galaxy S III,exynos4procss834quad here’s something that’s for sure – it will be powered by the company’s very own 32nm 1.4GHz quad-core processor that boasts not only a faster processing power, but also better energy savings. Samsung recently unveiled that the production of the Exynos 4 Quad processor is on-going and will make its debut into Samsung’s next Galaxy smartphone that will officially be announced in May – the next Galaxy! Thanks to its High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) low-power technology, the new Exynos 4 Quad is twice as fast and yet consumes 20% less power over its predecessor, the 45nm process-based Exynos 4 Dual. Like all multi-core processors, Exynos 4 Quad processor delivers enhanced performance, and enables users to accomplish more tasks in a shorter period of time. To top that off, the company adopted hot-plug functional to support on-off switching for each core as well as the per-core dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS). This offers a dramatic reduction in power consumption by adapting different levels of voltage and frequency when changing workloads.
