Asus released a new WL-160N 802.11n USB 2.0 wireless card which is announced as the "World's smallest". Card dimensions of 9cm(L) * 2.7cm(W) * 0.9cm(H) are trying to justify this title. ASUS WL-160N is fully compatible with 802.11b/g and also it is compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards.
Thanks to MIMO technology this wireless card can accomplish over 100Mbps which is faster than most wired solutions. This device is also providing support for multiple operating systems, and in order to provide maximum performance it is recommended to use it alongside ASUS WL-500W Super Speed N wireless router. |

HardOCP editors confirmed rumors about Nvidia nForce 680i lack of support for Intel's upcoming 45nm Yorkfield processors by contacting Nvidia directly. Nvidia reps said that 680i MCP fully support Penryn family including the quad-core Yorkfield processors, but in order to get it working a motherboard circuit change is required. In other words, owners of 680i-based boards will not be able to use Yorkfield quad-core processors which should retail in January.
If you can't live without SLI and Yorkfield, you'll be able to solve your problems simply by buying a new board. Nice move there, Nvidia. |

After missing the original launch date for the new GeForce 8800GTS cards, Nvidia picked December 11 as the launch date for G92-based 8800GTS cards. The new 8800GTS cards will replace current 640MB cards and bring support for PCIe 2.0, HDMI and PureVideo 2. Referent cards should have GPU clocked at 650MHz and GDDR3 memory working at 970MHz.
While exact pricing hasn't been revealed yet, analysts expect new cards to be priced around US$299-349. It will be interesting to see if overclocked 8800GT cards can reach performance of more expensive 8800GTS cards. |
