After showing some prototypes during Computex show, MSI has finally released the NX8600GT Twin Turbo card that has two separate VBIOS on-board chips carrying different GPU/Shader/Memory clock settings. In order to switch between normal and overclocked mode, users only have to press a hardware button on the bracket and then the new (higher) clock setting can be applied without re-flashing the vBIOS chip. ![]() |
NX8600GT Twin Turbo when working in default mode has 540/1450/1400MHz frequency for core, shader and memory, while frequency goes up to 580/1508/1600MHz in overclocked mode. MSI hopes to attract gamers with this card, but it is doubtful that many will be interested in "lame" overclocked having in mind that you can easily overclock any 8600GT card using software utilities.
