ImageToday is the last day of our visit at CeBIT 2009 and you can expect this report tomorrow. But for today we present you second part of Asus products and our impressions with Biostar’s booth. Although ASUS focused on Eee PC brand, on this year’s CeBIT core components are still their most important product portfolio. So today we will focus on ASUS motherboards, graphics cards and sound cards. On the other side is BIOSTAR with some very interesting products, especially motherboards.

Asus P7U

Announced Core i7 CPU series that will not have triple channel memory mode support, got their motherboards with appropriate socket that has 1156 pins. We saw few models of these motherboards made by other manufacturers but ASUS named its P7U/P7U PRO. Motherboards are not based on chipset since there are no northbridge and southbridge but instead there is only one chip and it will be from Intel 5 series, most probably P55 with support for dual channel DDR3 1333 memory. Since this was only a sample with cooler on chip we didn’t managed to get more information about used chip revision. We can only hope that cooling solution that will be used on final version will be more serious than the solution that we saw on sample because this motherboard was advertised as “Easy overclocking” and “Excellent performance” model. Version P7U PRO has two graphics cards clots and we guess that it will have support for CrossFireX and SLI.

Asus P7U & P5Q Deluxe HF

Well known P5Q Deluxe motherboard got its HF (Halogen Free) version. This is the first motherboard in the world that was made without usage of this substance and this is the way how ASUS emphasizes its concern for environment. For all those Italian car lovers that HF mark will stand for High Fidelity as it was the case with famous Lancia Delta HF Integrale. M478-HTPC is new motherboard suited for Home Theater configurations that is based on 780G chipset. This motherboard has Perfect Pitch Hi-Fi integrated preamplifier chip that amplifies low intensity audio signals and widens sound frequency so we get pure, more detailed sound. In package is included ASUS Media Gate, simple user interface for remote control (that is also included in package) that allows simple control of your media center. M4A79 Deluxe motherboard is based on 790FX chipset with support for AM3 CPUs with TurboV application for real time overclock from OS. Another version of P5Q motherboard is available and that is P5Q PRO. This model has Touch-and-boost technology support that allows user to overclock whole system by simple click on Turbo Key in operating system.
