 One of ASUS trumps in category of cheap portable notebooks is model X95GL. In X59 series last two alphabet characters are very important and “carry” information about platform on which is notebook based. In this case “GL” means that this model is based on NVIDIA solution and not on unpopular SiS chipset as it is the case with, for example, X59Sr model.

 It seems that difference between “B” and “S” series of HP notebooks was never more distinctive then in recent period at least when it comes to quilt quality. HP Compaq 6735s didn’t impress us but HP 6730b is worthy to represent its famous manufacturer. Big difference between those two series can be noticed after first contact. Chassis of HP Compaq 6730b is very stiff and whole notebook looks like robust and reliable piece of hardware thanks to roll-cage that is reinforced by magnesium alloy.

 We were very eager to test Lenovo ThinkPad X301: Lenovo’s best in class of ultraportable notebooks. Although it looks almost the same as older brother X300 , Lenovo has hidden new features under the hood. Manufacturing quality is, as expected, at very high level despite the fact that notebook looks very fragile because of its height (thickness or better - slimness).

If that is the case, Logitech has interesting new product for you: Comfort Lapdesk. “Natural environment” for Comfort Lapdesk to be used in, is living room or bedroom. One of the purposes of this “device” is to protect you from heat that is dissipated from the bottom of the notebook and second is to provide you comfort while using notebook in your lap by increasing stability that results in better body posture. Logitech Comfort Lapdesk is not notebook cooler so if you are looking for a device that will chill your notebook this is not right solution for your problems.

Besides its obvious gaming pedigree ASUS G71V actually belongs to desktop replacement notebook category.
