Display is LED back lighted with matte surface and good viewing angles. Light sensor will adjust brightness of display according to lighting conditions of surroundings. Integrated webcam of average quality has one nice detail. Beside it is located small retractable LED that can be used in poor light conditions. It can be activated thanks to a button placed right beside it. Business users will welcome Smart card reader, finger print reader and docking connector located at the bottom side.
Configuration of HP EliteBook 6930p is optimized for business users: fast CPU and intergraded graphics card. Hard disk has slightly lower data transfer speed but low access times, so it is perfect for scenarios where it needs to work with small portions of data. Warming up was almost unnoticeable. Thanks to good power optimization this notebook has very good autonomy and even better results can be achieved with larger battery .

We got our model with Windows Vista Business preinstalled but in the package we also found Windows XP for downgrade option. Software package that comes with this model is huge, but we would like to highlight jus few of them that we found very useful and interesting to business users. Quick Look 2 can be used for fast access to mail, contacts and tasks without need to wait for Vista to boot up. It can be launched by pressing Info button while notebook is powered down and requires Outlook 2003 or 2007 to operate correctly. There is also Drive Encryption that requires authentication before any attempt of access to data on HDD (Vista boot). As you already know Vista does not erase data on HDD when you delete data but just marks the file as deleted. File sanitizer erases data completely so that data can be un-erased if someone gets your HDD. BizCard is application that can “read” data from visit card that is placed in front of webcam and place it into you contacts. OCR is very precise especially if lighting conditions are good. All business users that were in situation where they returned from a bunch of meetings with few decks of visit cards, know how frustrating can be inserting all those contacts into contact list. So, we are certain that they will cherish this piece of software.
