Conclusion
Although you don’t expect top-quality sound from devices like these, Altec Lansing has gone a few steps further in implementing new technologies into ultra mobile speakers which resulted in very quality sound that these speaks produce. Sound of all three models is satisfactory but model T612 stands out as leader in that area. This is not surprise because of its weight that point out to top-quality integrated drivers. T612 can produce very powerful bass that can shake your working table with sound distortion occurring only at maximum volume values. Of course, cheapest model, FX3020 is slightly “weaker” but we cannot find any serious flaws for this model. With its design and sound quality model iMV712 won our hearts. It can fill large rooms with top-quality sound and has support for multimedia reproduction.
We can only hope that other manufacturers will follow Altec Lansing example and continue to integrate new technologies into their speakers. As portable player market grows we can expect more speakers that will support them. It seems that we can expect in the future more interesting and innovative speakers for our media players. Altec Lansing made good impressions on us with these speakers, maybe because they are pioneers in implementation of new technologies. Nevertheless we were very satisfied with quality of these models and can’t wait for new products from Altec Lansing to arrive in our test labs.
