Page 4 of 6 Quite sure the first association you have for Xbox 360 is playing of video games, so we will deal with this aspect later on, and now we will turn to matters that are not so commonly known. First, you are able to easily connect Xbox 360 to your PC. In this way (if you have Windows Media Center Edition or upgraded XP) through console you can listen music or look photographs on your television in the living-room. Beside controller and steering you can use USB port for connecting MP3 player, so you could listen favorite music during playing game, and quite naturally MS promises special support for own digital player, Zune in near future. All of this part of a project designed to make Xbox a central segment of home entertainment.
Xbox 360 successfully plays most games from Xbox platform, but to use this option it is necessary to download special update, on the other hand demanding hard disk, so it is more clear to you why „Core“ system from the beginning of the text does not have a support for this type of games. Option we also tested is viewing photographs from camera. We used Nikon which was in redaction at the time, connected it to available USB port and selected option "Digital Photo" in Xbox. Everything went in the split of a second, and we were able to look freshly taken photos without any difficulties. By using online connection you will be able to download new demo games and patches for current games. It is to be performed through „Marketplace“, and one-of-a-kind iTunes for Xbox.
Using named program, beside demos and trailers, you will be able to download DVD movies (to remind you, Microsoft supports and promotes HD DVD), music CDs and find all „alternative“ stuff supported by 360, as unique „bonus“, having in mind its basic purpose.
