Portable DVD devices just recently started to gain attention. Purpose of these devices is multimedia fun, and to be honest, they are at least three times smaller and five times lighter than notebooks. Consequently, their screen is also significantly smaller, so the only way to see and read something is from short vicinity. Yet, on these devices, movies can be seen without greater effort.
Shortly after introduction of this type of device on the market, general panic usually starts the question who will offer device which does the same and at least five additional operations, for the same or smaller amount of money. Therefore, this DVD portable device is hybrid of various necessary and unnecessary things. Beside DVD and DivX reproductions with supported titles, PDVT105HD has analogical antenna TV tuner on itself. If you have at least decent location you might still have a chance to catch some channel; if such attempt fails, the device is equipped with FM tuner for help in achieving better results. Like it was not enough, PDVT also has Card Reader for SD, MC and MMC cards, as well as additional USB for flash memories, given it supports view of JPEG images.
Beside from all the above, there is 3.5mm AV output if you want to use the screen for view of material from camera or even to achieve a connection with some console for which two completely useless game pads are included in package. All of this is of course not important as quality of image which can be fairly considered as decent. Still, the prevailing part of attention should be paid on 7“ screen, given everything depends on it. As in some sort of a miracle, this Chinese manufacturer chose to divide brightness, contrast and color adjustments up to 65 points instead of 100, and image has good visibility from different viewing angles.
The package also provides chargeable battery which may be removed from device, remote control, charger, as well as car adapter which is probably the most practical item in the package. Work with different types of media was very satisfactory, being withal the most beautiful feature of Chinese DVD players which were never too picky regarding media type, unlike brands, with no other interests beside original DVDs.
Impressions are positive, but not over enthusiastic, because of a notion that too much was over-consumed on unnecessary items, instead of focusing price of device on the highest possible quality of display. |
