ImageAt least, when you are not in front of your LCD monitor. The Philips Brilliance LCD monitor’s main feature is the PowerSensor technology, a built in sensor that detects user presence. As soon as the user leaves their monitor, monitor brightness dims and power consumption is reduced by 50%. As the user returns he screen immediately switches back to normal mode without delay.

ImageThe PowerSensor is based on infrared which is proven not to interfere with any other office equipment such as wireless keyboards, mouse, headsets, mobile phones and so on. The user is easily able to set the distance from the monitor at which point they wish the PowerSensor to kick into action. The PowerSensor is capable of efficiently detecting user presence anywhere from 30cm – 120cm. The PowerSensor operates entirely independent of the PC or operating system and works instantly. By comparison the standard screen save model only works after some minutes of inactivity and does not reduce energy consumption. The Philips Brilliance LCD monitor with PowerSensor has built in SmartControl II. This monitor based software contains an easy-to-use on-screen graphic interface that guides the user through fine-tuning resolution, color calibration and other display settings. The Built-in stereo audio consists of two adjustable high quality stereo speakers. For a demonstration of the PowerSensor you can visit www.powersensormonitor.com and see how much money businesses can save without putting any effort into it. The Philips Brilliance LCD monitor with PowerSensor will be available from July 2009 for therecommended retail price of €199 (excluding VAT).
