The next Atom platform, due out later this year and code-named Pine Trail, will feature a 3-to-2 chip partition for better performance and lower average power, plus increased graphics performance and a smaller overall footprint. View a video demonstrating the Moblin v2 beta user experience HERE .

Pine Trail enables lower platform BOM, reduced power, and improved performance.

Lower Platform BOM & Easier Design
          •  2-chip architecture enabling 4L PCB routing
          •  Fanless potential1enabling reducing BOM
          •  Easier design with package area reduction

Reduced Power
          •  Energy efficient Intel Atom microarchitecture
          •  Lower TDP –hinner form factors, fanless potential
          •  Avg power reduction –improved battery lifeImproved

Improved Performance
          •  Higher processor performance
          •  Increased graphics performance
          •  Memory controller integrated with processorLower

Moblin is an optimized Linux operating system project that delivers a visually rich internet and media experience on Intel Atom Processor based devices including MIDs, netbooks/nettops, in-vehicle infotainment, and embedded systems2Moblin v2.0 Beta is optimized for Intel Atom Mprocessor-based devices (fast boot, footprint, battery life optimization).
