Page 3 of 5 Nobody actually knows when all of this started. It is assumed that seeking for maximal stable overclock of CPU spontaneously led to the competition. Goal was not only stable overclock, but sufficiently stable to run and complete some benchmark app or sufficiently stable to shoot. Let us clear on term shoot. Once seeking max-clock, i.e. when hardware is on limit of any (even minimal) stability, only prove of max-clock achievement is in form of screenshot desktop. This solution is not 100% valid, out of simple existing of Photoshop software. Fake results always carry bunch of illogic items, but we are not going to focus on manners of their detection.
However, credibility of obtained results is now hundred percent thanks to CPU-Z program. CPU-Z is software obtaining information on motherboard, processor and memory, also having a part for validation of achieved results. First version of CPU-Z with validation was marked 1.27 (February 2005). Latest version is 1.39. Disregarding obtained frequency, validation from CPU-Z creates file for future upload on CPU- Z server. Page opening with this procedure in your Internet browser is certificate guarantying one hundred percent credibility of achieved result.
