Looks like it&#039;s gonna be sweet. When I first saw the benchmarks Intel had setup for the previews, I was <br /><br />sceptical. But now that indepented benchies have leaked, it looks like Intel got its groove back. Lower clock speeds and <br /><br />thermal dissipation, but awesome performance. AMD is still going strong, but doesn&#039;t look like even the FX-series will be <br /><br />able to stand up against even the mid-range Conroes. of course, even Intel&#039;s entry-level offering based on C2D is quite impressive. <br />Quad-core (well, not native..) is available for $249 nowadays..<br /><br />In case you didn&#039;t, you can check some of our reviews:<br /><br />* Intel Pentium E2140/2160 and C2D 6320/6420 <br />* Intel Conroe-L (Celeron)<br />* Intel C2D E4300 <br />* Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 <br /><br />I&#039;m running cheap E6300 processor overclocked at 3.4GHz and it&#039;s great!
